It says “Evening Drive”, but you’re clearly in park and the engine is cold. Fake news!
Sorry, I’m just bummed that I’m driving a work truck this evening, that is significantly less fun than an IS.

That’s a fun cluster.

Best gauge cluster ever.

Look at you and your fancy functioning back lighting!

Hey, that looks familiar, mine is right in the mid 90s on mileage too. Unknown history, but appears to have been well cared for. Plan to do a timing belt in the foreseeable future.

I’m actually surprised to see such a cool cluster in a Toyota. It’s neat.

Oooooh, what year?

2002, have had it 4 years or so, has been a very good car. Sticky dash, cleaned and painted with vinyl spray, Bilstein shocks on the back, front has a minor clunk, will get attention soon, otherwise runs great.

The IS cluster almost looks better during the day

Without a doubt. Looks even better in the daytime.

Was the sticky dash a DIY? Mine is pretty bad and I’m not sure what course of action to take :(

Yes, there are two general courses of action to take. One is to take the whole dash off and strip it with alcohol or something, then repaint with vinyl and fabric spray, either Dupli-Color (which I used) available at most any auto partschain, or SEM, which is more ofa specialty item available in auto body and paint shops.
The other way is to clean with Armor All Cleaner (not the pro tectant which probably will make it worse) and a lint free rag, a lot of elbow grease but the smudges should go away and you get down to a more stable surface, tape (takes a while) and paint. I did it this way, the Dupli-Color stuff stay dry to the touch, but still soft for a while.
This is not as durable as good OEM (as it should have been) , but will look good and last if you take care of it, and doesn’t smudge if you look at it wrong on a bad day like mine used to do.
Even more detail on the internet, there was some hope of a factory fix, but I think that is lo ng gone.

The other solution was to swap in a 2001 dash, which had the satin accents in lieu of the stick areas. I’ve been strongly considering that because I think the color scheme is better and I need to replace my stereo anyway, so I’ve been thinking of a painful double whammy. My concern is that I don’t want any new rattles from a shoddy reinstallation...

Yeah, I was gonna say, if I went the pull the dash route I would probably bite the bullet and replace it after all that work. I wouldn’t worry about creaks too much, everything on the car seems to be not only put together well, but well designed to avoid that sort of thing.
I was going to ask if your radio works. My CD quit a couple years ago and the cassette (I am a neandrethal in some respects) quit shortly after that. I really wanted a factory radio, installed three “guaranteed to work”off of eBay and the CD didn’t work on any of them.
After all that I can swap out an IS stereo in about 20 minutes. I gave up on OEM and e nded up getting a Kenwood with Bluetooth, the Bluetooth is nice, but I would still rather have a factory unit.

My CD and tape both do not work. I badly want to use an OEM unit because the lighting is all the same. I don’t really care for bluetooth because if I’m in my Lexus, I’m not working and no one needs to call me.
